Modern day warrior, his name's Tom Sawyer and he floated down the river on a raft with a black guy, do, do, do, do, do do, do, do, do, do ...
This came out the same year I was brought into this world. Funny thing is, when I first time EVER heard this song (Though I don't know how this ever came to happen) I heard it in the Ready Player One trailer and I thought this was a newish song from the last 10 years. Boy how wrong was I, and kinda stocked to find out I'm as old as this gem of a song. Very ahead of its time.

It's funny when your favorite band and last name are the same
Look guys, nobody gives a shit if you came here from Ready Player One. What matters is the fact that you came here.

A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride
Though his mind is not for rent
Don't put him down as arrogant
He reserves the quiet defense
Riding out the day's events
The river
What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift
The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his skies are wide
Today's Tom Sawyer
He gets by on you
And the space he invades
He gets by on you
No, his mind is not for rent
To any God or government
Always hopeful yet discontent
He knows changes aren't permanent
But change is
What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the witness, catch the wit
Catch the spirit, catch the spit
The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his eyes are wide
Exit the warrior
Today's Tom Sawyer
He gets by on you
And the energy you trade
He gets right on to the friction of the day

Rush is still underrated. Not enough listeners ._.
when i was about 11 (1981), this neighbor kid had a portable cassette player that was like a would open up and had speakers in the top half and the deck laid down flat in the bottom half...He had this tape called moving pictures and i was just memorized by that tape!!!...the tape player had a little VU meter that bounced to the beat and i just thought that was the coolest thing ever, except this album of course!! we listened that tape constantly!!!..i eventually traded him something for that tape player and that tape and was able to call it my own!..i was so proud of that thing..but damn every time i hear this song i think of that old tape player!! lol ..i later moved on to much better stereo equipment and got moving pictures on vinyl that i still have, and 2 copy's on cd that i still listen to alot!!
